Ottawa Fishing Boat Sale is partnering with the Ottawa Senators Foundation in support of Roger's House

OTTAWA, Ontario, February 1, 2006 - A new show is coming to Ottawa, February 17th - 19th, 2006 at the Bell Sensplex, 1565 Maple Grove Road in Kanata. The first annual Ottawa Fishing Boat Sale has 10 local Ottawa marine dealers exhibiting 14 different brands of aluminum and fiberglass fishing boats and outboards. The show will be well suited for anyone interested in fishing or fishing boats.

Up until now, Ottawa has lacked a good show for dealers to display their fishing boats. Jeff Wilcox, co-organizer of the Ottawa Fishing Boat Sale and president of George's Marine and Sports of Carp, Ontario says "We've been waiting for a good show to come along but it hasn't, so we've decided to start our own." Scott Morrison, the other co-organizer and president of Lake and Trail of Perth, Ontario says "If you love to fish, come to the Ottawa Fishing Boat Sale and meet the finest in local dealers and see the best in brands all under one roof".

The Ottawa Fishing Boat Sale is partnering with the Ottawa Senators Foundation in support of Roger's House. There will be a small admission charge of $2 per adult with all gate proceeds going directly to Roger's House charity and their fine efforts in the Ottawa community.

The hours will be Friday the 17th from 5:00pm to 9:00pm, Saturday the 18th from 9:00am to 9:00pm and Sunday the 19th from 9:00am to 6:00pm. All dealers will be offering special sale pricing and finance rates on their products. Plenty of free parking is available.

About Roger's House

The hockey world and countless others lost a beloved coach, friend and mentor on Saturday, June 21, 2003 as Ottawa Senators assistant coach Roger Neilson passed away after a long-term battle with two forms of cancer.

To honour the memory of Roger, the Ottawa Senators Foundation is accepting donations for Roger's House. Roger's House will be located on the grounds of the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) providing pediatric palliative care with the objective of enhancing the comfort and quality of life for children and their families. The concept was met with great enthusiasm from Roger when presented with the idea. We will be working closely with local health care agencies and organizations to fulfill Roger's legacy.

Adjacent to the hospital and administered by CHEO's experienced and expert staff, the Ottawa Senators and CHEO are forging a partnership that will see services compliment each other for the benefit of children, youth and their families.

Roger's House will promote the celebration of life and pediatric palliative care including respite care for children, youth and families, anchored in an innovative, family-centered, holistic approach.

Roger's House will be modeled after Canuck Place Children's Hospice in Vancouver, which provides specialized pediatric care for children living with progressive life-limiting illnesses and their families in British Columbia.
